Halloween Candy Recall

Have you even noticed that each year before Halloween there is a candy recall? At least it comes before Halloween I suppose...
I just found out the other day that the teething tables I have been using are recalled. Lovely, that even homeopathic items get recalled too! And in this past year I have found out that my crib, high chair, stroller, play pen, booster seat and activity center were all recalled. Awesome right? I think maybe the FDA is going a little over board. Should we go back to only letting our children play with rocks and sticks? or the old fashion pots and pans? No, our kitchen wear and lawn seed may get recalled then. Now I am very happy we have the FDA. But common.... This is getting to be a bit much. How about doing a little more extensive research before throwing an item out for sale for my child to use. Makes me wonder how my parents ever survived or my grandparents....

Treats & Feet

Here are a few things I have been working on this week! The past few years I have been getting tired of emptying the pumpkin head into my purse once it gets filled up with all that trick or treating candy...not that I mind sifting through the candy and picking out the Reese's pieces.. I mean...making sure the candy is safe....
Anyways I decided instead of using a pillow case or store bought trick or treat bag that I would make one! It's a first for me but I think it turned out great and Z just loved it! I also appliqued both kiddies a shirt. Tonight we made some little ghost feet. I love it! Such a neat keepsake for later too!!

Fall Photos

Here are just a few fall/halloween themed photos I took of my kiddies this past week to get into the spirit. Even though it doesn't quiet feel like fall in our 100 degree weather still...
There are many more I will share later on. I am making some photo cards to send out to the families. Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!! B just enjoyed trying to eat the pumpkins! And Z just wants to be a model and shes trying to figure out what her best "roar" look is ;)

Halloween Cookies

The other night Z and I made some Halloweenish sugar cookies! Yum, yum! It just so happened when it came time to doing the icing I realized we had ran out of milk. So I hopped onto Allrecipes and found a recipe that did not call for any. It turned out wonderful!

Here is the recipe for the sugar cookies
and here for the no milk icing!!

Pumpkins!

I have a confession. I absolutely love pumpkins! Big ones, small ones, round ones, odd shape ones. Now I've never cared for the color orange but when it comes to pumpkins I think the color is awesome! Any store I walk into that has them, I always go over to look and touch the pumpkins even if I am not out to buy one. They are just great and really there is so much you could do with them besides pie, seeds and carve! Did i mention they taste good too!?
Here are some great ideas.
